With the same careful consideration I took in deciding whether or not I would take a shit before writing this article, Paul W.S. Anderson recently revealed to the Sunday Sun that, after completing his script for the modern update of The Long Good Friday, he “will probably write Resident Evil 4.” My advice is don’t wait. You’re going to have to push it out eventually.
Then again, why rush? Have a bagel, take a shower, and then crap out another Resident Evil film before dinner. When you’re done with that, take some time to catch up with Everybody Loves Raymond on DVD.
It doesn’t seem like a lot of thought it going into this one but I’d bet that it will be the last thing we hear before production stills fall out of the sky with everyone asking, “Did you know they’re making another Resident Evil film?”

The Resident Evil movies are disliked more than they should be. But then, I'm a sucker for movies that are willing to end on cliffhangers. And that include gratuitous nods to continuity. And that get more entertaining as they go. Hell, it beats "Japanese Knockoff 17" or "30 Days of Night," which I had the misfortune of finally seeing.

Fuck RE 4. I'm more concerned he's remaking The Long Good Friday. That movie is beyond description, and it's one of Bob Hoskins' best roles to date, hands down. This guy is a real Hollywood tool.
God, if only he stuck to making nothing but Resident Evil sequels for the rest of his life.

I really hope this doesn't happen. Resident Evil was barely watchable and the sequels are complete garbage. Plus, aren't they making a CGI version of Resident Evil?
I wish someone would have the balls to make a REAL Resident Evil film here in the states, these Milla Resident Evil flicks are fucking terrible.

Seriously, if another movie gets made then does it really matter? They've raped the series already.
Outside the zombie concept, I just dont think theres enough of a movie in the games. Some of them were great – especially RE4 – but I just stopped caring about game-to-movie properties. Who cares if Boll picks up another useless, forgettable game to rape into the vague shape of a movie? I know everyone's default mode is to get into an uproar about this, but it doesnt really achieve much and ultimately more will be made ad nauseum.

Liked the first. Hate the sequels. The next one will be an equally bad sequel, yet I'll see it on DVD knowing I'll hate it. What the fucks wrong with me?
The worst thing about news like this is knowing that despite knowing better, at some time in the future I will waste 90 minutes of my life on this movie. Come to think of it, that is the worst thing about most movie news these days (Ratner's upcoming Conan, Miller's "Spirit", etc. I wish I could just stay away!)
the current RE movie franchise may not be the best for for a rainy day, it's actually fun to watch if nothing else is on.
With that said, I think they should make an RE4 movie to close this franchise completely just for the sake of giving closure. A 5th would just be a drag and stupid.
Once that's done, wait a couple years and re-make the entire franchise with one that is more in tune with fans needs of the original RE (games) in mind.
