The Quentin Tarantino Archives has the first shot of Brad Pitt in character as Lt. Aldo Raine, leader of the ragtag Nazi-hunting Jews known as the Inglorious Basterds. As you’d expect, it’s Pitt in an era-appropriate costume, looking commanding and statuesque. Maybe that’s just the camera angle. Regardless, it’s a great shot. I’m so happy after all of the pessimism that we’d built up around this project that it’s finally on.
Hit the Archives for the full-size, uber-watermarked shot. And while you’re there, check out the site’s collection of shots depicting the opening farmhouse set, showing the production buzzing like bees around the little house.

The picture looks good, but at what point in the film does David Hasslehoff come exploding out of Pitt's chest to fight giant rubber snakes? Seems like an odd place to take the story.
Having just seen the original, I'm a little perplexed that Pitt was cast for any of the parts, let alone the one that he has. I'm also getting more conquistador instead of Lt. …maybe retitle it "Inglorious Spaniards"…
This is *not* a remake of Castellari's movie of the same name. (Or of similar name.) They share a title and the WWII setting, and that is all.
I'm regular heterosexual male, but I'd totally fuck Brad Pitt – and don't lie, so would the rest of you!
Joe, I've argued for years that Pitt was over praised as both a star and a piece of ass. He still can't open a movie for shit(although he could change this anytime he wants by just selling out a bit more often) but as he gets older he's growing more rugged and less pretty boyish. Works for me. I do believe I'd tap that ass. I'd tap it something fierce.
Well I don't think i'd fuck Brad Pitt. That would be gay.
Ironic words from a man named Bubbles.
I would let him suck my cock.
The teaser poster for Inglorious Bastards is up here: http://www.nukethefridge.com/
I'd rather fist fuck angelina jolie's face. Faggots.
I have zero faith in Tarantino, but a rough-around-the-edges Brad Pitt is a score, no question. Haven't been converted into a ticket buyer yet tho.
As Pitt ages, if he acts a bit fiercer and squints, he could be the new Squint Eastwood. This film should become an instant classic, if the story is as good as they say, and Tarantino takes it a bit more serius than usual. Jeez there's a lot of sexually confused starf***ers around here.
Who says the story is good? I didn't think it was very good at all.
And I have no idea why I thought this, but when reading the script I thought of this character as being black.
