I really, really liked Youth in Revolt, the new film starring Michael Cera. It’s not coming out until January but I had a chance to catch it about a month ago as part of the AFI Fest. It’s funny and it’s different and it’s delightfully R-rated. I’m not sure you really get that from this trailer, which includes a terrible Mr. Movie Voice narration and some goofy song choices – in fact, it’s just one scratched record sound away from being a completely cheesy trailer.
Hopefully I’ll get around to writing my review of this quite good film soon. In the meantime, make do with this less-than-stellar trailer.

So is Michael Cera actually playing a different type of character in this? I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but he really hasn't shown any range in any movie I've seen him in so far. So if he does, cool. It would impress me more than Tom Hanks, who seemingly plays the same type of character in every film.
Cera does indeed play a completely against type role. It's refreshing. The entire cast is pretty great.
"It's just one scratched record sound away from being a completely cheesy trailer." That's funny.
Michael Cera sucks unless he's playing George Michael Bluth.
