Picture removed at the request of Warner Bros!
Here’s the rule I don’t think Hollywood marketing departments quite understand yet: your characters, monsters and other designs for big geek properties will be revealed by toys, book tie-ins and other promotional items if you don’t reveal them yourselves first. Such is the case when it comes to the face of Freddy Krueger in the remake of
A Nightmare on Elm Street; while Warner Bros has been hiding Freddy’s kisser, a NECA toy photo gives the whole thing away. It gives the whole outfit away, in fact.
What do you think? I saw this make-up live and in person and thought it was delightfully realistic and unsettling. I’m not certain a toy photo is the best way for anyone to experience it the first time, but hey, that’s what happens with your geek properties these days.

Needs more Mason Verger.
What happened to the "tyranny of reality"?
I wonder if Harry Potter will finally defeat him this time.
Here's the rule I don't give blow job reviews unless I get a set visit, like the piss poor Firday the 13th remake or if Seth Rogen is involved
These things ALWAYS show up as toys first — I remember the Abomination.. and few others..
That looks all kinds of terrible. I would have assumed the toys would be for the adult collector, that photo looks like an attempt to put Freddy on a cereal box.
I was unaware that they changed Freddy's origin story for this one because that thing looks like an alien. It's the alien from Signs. Except scared by all that water Mr. Phoenix slung his way. I get it now.
My expectations for this are low and dropping by the moment.
He´s cute!
finally a bad dreams toy!!!!
Looks like a burn victim. Job done.
I love that you censored yourself in the title of this post, and yet the site bore Nick's "Fuck This Face" banners on the frontpage for weeks.
I thought it had already been established that this movie mostly sucks. Why are we still caring about elements of a remake which hasn't been released yet but that we already know failed to be cool?
Also, THANKS for censoring the post title. For those of you who didn't know this, maybe office networks block links with certain keywords in them. And since CHUD seems to reflect the post title in the article link, often any cursewords mean you can't get to the link from the office.
God please be better than that horrible Friday remake. I dig the concepts so far, but the Friday film fell so damn flat…
Guillermo Del Toro should of been more interested in these remakes..
You're giving me a bad name, #12. Pick a new nom de plume.
Read the screenplay and there's no doubt this will be awful as the characters openly drop pop songs and band names in dialogue that seems pretty laid back for being in a situtation where a burn victim is trying to kill you. You wonder if this movie will be as flat as the "Friday" remake? this movie will be flatter than Sherri Shepard's concept of earth…
I read somewhere that the makers of lipitor paid to have there product advertised in this movie. Is this the movie where Harry fingers Hagrid?
I saw this at the first test screening in El Segundo a few weeks ago. It's worse than that shitty Friday the 13th remake. This is by far the worst of the Platinum Dunes remakes. Utterly soulless, mass mainstream schlock designed for twelve year old girls who will see this shit at their local mall. It's pathetic.
Looks like a Muppet
Hey, #17:
TO US!
"In MY dreams, I'm the WIZARD MASTER!"
Not a single person should judge this movie yet, its not even out!!! If you go see it, and think it sucks. Then aight, thats one thing.. But to say that this will blow donkey balls is ridiculous.. Give it a chance…. During the entire Elm st series of movies, if anyone noticed that is, the stories of Freddy were all over the place.. the only thing that stayed true was How he got burned, what he was before getting burned… Im sure this movie will get into how he became the Dream Killer…
Totally agree with adam. Guy from Hannibal was the first thing I thought of when I saw that photo.
Is that a shadow, or does he have 2 different colored eyes?
ribbit…ribbit
Michael Bay musy be destroyed!!!
Goddamn, Harrison Ford is looking older by the day.
Aren't the toys, books, tie ins, etc all a product of the hollywood marketing department to begin with?
