In what’s easily the best thing we’ve heard in the whole of today, Valve announced that Left 4 Dead 2’s forthcoming DLC will feature four familiar characters:
*Coming in early 2010 for both the 360 and the PC, “The Passing” will somehow involve Bill, Zoey, Francis, and Louis. Valve VP Doug Lombardi calls it “The most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign.”
Not only will the DLC feature a new campaign, but it will bring along a suite of new Scavenge, Versus, and Survival modes, as well as an unannounced “[new] co-operative challenge mode of play.” It’s also packing a new melee weapon and firearm.
Ponder whether Valve’s definition of “passing” is literal or figurative on our message boards.

They look somewhat undead to me… is Bill bleeding from his eyes?
I blued and goried them for the article.
Why would you blue and gory them? if no one commented then people would think they are going to be undead. how fucking stupid and a moron are you, Trevor? why not make every article on this site fake. turn AVATAR green. change the title of kick-ass. retard.
Hahahahahaha, so much fury!
Probably should have mentioned that you doctored the photo. But as long as people read the comments…
hEH, #3 – You so loser!!11!!
Let me butt in with some nerdery. Technically, L4D2 takes place BEFORE L4D, so them being featured as zombies wouldn't make sense. Also, grabbin' peeeels.
Everything I've read tells me that L4D2 runs roughly parallel to L4D1, but I probably didn't scour hard enough. Where did you read that it was a prequel?
This is why Trevor rules, you guys!
Weren't Francis and Zoey and co, immune to the virus?
The beginning of Left 4 Dead states "two weeks after infection", but Left 4 Dead 2, though they don't come out and tell you, seems to start very soon after things first went to hell. You'll see throughout the campaigns that, in order, there seems to be a degradation of humanity as well as more and more government intrusion, such as CEDA, and the like. Lots of evacuation vehicles and things. Like I said, big nerd.
It seems like L4d2 takes off after the "story" of the first one, you didn't see any bombs or jets in the first one…..but that could also mean l4d started after all the isolation of areas failed, maybe valve should go head and explain, either way more zombie killin
The first l4d happened chronologically before the events in l4d 2. Mercy hospital was ground zero for the infection. In a magazine article that i read prior to the release of the game, it mentioned that the southerners had heard of some "trouble" up north. It started in the north (Philadelphia) and spread to the south after the initial outbreak. Being a nerd means you automatically know things frogger? News to me…
who actually cares what order or whatever, or what the dam picture looks like. play the game its awesome.
