It feels like The Star Wars Holiday Special only exists for two reasons: to be the worst Star Wars thing ever and to be fuel for endurance test viewing parties. The special is easily one of the worst things mankind hath wrought, honestly. But I guess when you live in Minnesota sitting through that junk is the least of your pain, so the Minnesota Film & Television Board shows it to audiences EVERY GODDAMNED YEAR! This is an annual tradition on par with putting the bees on Nic Cage. Anyway, this year’s presentation was advertised with this very cool little poster, 50 hand screen printed copies of which are available for you and yours. I like the design of the Christmas tree/Chewbacca a whole bunch.

It should be known the screening is for charity. We're not completely insane here.
What the hell do they screen? A zillionth generation vhs copy?
Thanks for featuring this poster we made over here at THEY! It was a blast creating Treebacca and selling him to the tortured souls at the Holiday Special. Luckily it was for Toys for Tots so all the torment was for a good cause.
If that Etsy link says that they are sold out, rest assured we have more on Etsy or on http://blog.THEY-design.com . In fact we also made 10 limited editions on a burnt brown/orange paper that are also for sale – though there's only about 3 left right now.
I hope you enjoy Treebacca, next year we'll have more holiday special madness for you! CtreePO? R2tree2? Only time will tell…

Awesome. Just ordered mine. These Geek Chic articles are one of my favorite parts of the site. Keep em coming!
I don't need to see this. I SAW THE SPECIAL WHEN IT WAS FIRST BROADCAST. And it rocks more than all of the Star Wars movies (except Caravan of Courage).
Hey Devin, from all us loyal chud reading Minnesotians fuck off 😉
God bless us, every treebacca.
Ahh…brings back memories of sitting around the fire, switching on the television, drinking egg nog and watching Han Solo murder a Stormtrooper by pushing him off a tree. Good times, good times…
Amazing Poster!
This was my first year. Jezus. It's worse than you can imagine. 1/2 the story is told through wookie dialog without subtitles. … not to mention the too-cool-for-school Jefferson Starship interlude.
…as for being Minnesotan and being able to stomach anything… YOU'RE GODDAMNED RIGHT. We're brutal. Have you seen our winters?
Anyhow- it was a great time. I'm going to do it again next year.
