You may have missed my 10/10 review of Kick-Ass last week – if so, click here to read me slobbering all over Matthew Vaughn’s brilliantly fun adaptation of the Mark Millar/John Romita Jr comic. One of the best elements of Kick-Ass is Hit Girl, the 10 year old deadly weapon, and the new red band trailer for the film showcases just how awesome she is.
It debuted on IGN and Empire – sadly Empire has no embed code and IGN makes you do this shitty age gate thing. I’ve embedded the IGN below, but if you don’t want to go through the hassle, click here to head to Empire.

Hahahahah oh man this looks AWESOME!!!!! Love the use of the Bananasplits theme song! lol
I had to stop watching, because this trend of showing you all the coolest shit in the movie months before it comes out can go straight to hell.
I'm already excited; stop spoiling every cool moment in your films, marketing departments.
Rintintin watched this and probably had to masturbate, the motherfucking child molester that he is.
Holy fucking shit.
That has to be one of the funniest goddamn things I've ever seen.
I need to see this fucker now.
The CHUD hype machine rolls on.
I'm sorry Devin but here's the situation = that looks utterly retarded. Is that really what gets your panties wet??? Completely unbelievable violence delivered by an 11 year old? Awww, how cute! (God help us all…)
Just cannot wait for this; I've read the story and its just fun fun fun.
Lol, I'm glad to see I've made such an impression on you #3. Way to lash out at others due to your shame at getting turned on by children committing acts of violence.
And that trailer really looks pathetic. Idiotic hipster bullshit. "Oooo, how edgy, we'll have a little girl cuss and shoot people." How fucking sad.
Hell yeah, this just keeps looking better and better with each teaser. It's Mystery Men meets Kill Bill. And with scenes like the latest I know the DVD will someday have a place on my shelf next to classics like 'Lolita' (the Dominique Swain version) and 'Pretty Baby.'
Hahaha! She fucked Jason Flemyng up!
wow. nothing in that trailer looked good. at all. and why did i feel like I had seen it before??
#10. The Mystery Men-meets-Kill Bill comparison seems very apt. Still, I can't help but be intrigued.
Dickies doing The Banana Splits FTW
Fucking awesome! Banana splits sold it for me!
Was the subject heading written in grammatically bad cockney?
"Hit Girl shows you cunts (what she's got)" How many cunts does she have?
Anyway, movie looks rather fun old chaps.
I was even more confused Simon. I first read C**TS as CLITS.
Not mystery men, y do people keep bringing that stupid old movie up as if it's the only superhero movie parody-thing. Meteor Man did it years ago, then came blankman, then oh yeah american hero, I can't remember many others but I know there's more, maybe sky high. I too am not fond of the kid cussing just to make the movie look cool. Kids portrayed this way in film is a slippery slope. Yes it's reality, but even as a kid I only cussed because I knew it was unacceptable. Here it's like, it's something to do for chuckles. It kind of weirds me out a little even though I should know better than to think kids are innocent little angels.
whoa rintintin is a child molester? crazzzy.
I can't help but laugh and smile at this movie. I do appreciate that, though it's a little girl, they show you her propensity for violence. Fingers crossed the movie's this full of energetic goodness.
Didn't like it. Still want to see the movie, but something was just off with that trailer. It seemed like it was trying to hard. The action choreography was cool in the abstract, but it seemed over the top for what I *thought* the movie was going for (I haven't read the comic). Both lines from Hit Girl seemed forced, like a little kid playing dress-up, not an actual bad ass. Maybe that works in context with the entire film, but here I cringed when she said the 'cunts' line.
Best part? When she cut's the guy's legs off. Can't wait.
Awesome, a cartoon that knows it's a cartoon. JC's Battle Angel Alita just had it's ass handed to it. — RinTin doesn't like this because it reminds him of the time he tried to abduct that little girl and she violently beat and raped him with a Bratz doll. Managed to get the head out yet Rin? They are rather big…
Devin, please verify, is Hit Girl from Kick Ass the same actress who is currently in the cable commercial with the remote control Mexican Standoff where she mentions "Happy Pony?" Looks just like her.
This looks pathetic, like a parody of a parody of a parody of a Hollywood action film, made for stoners to giggle at and say "that's fucking cool, man" and knock one off to the slow motion 'action porn' of an 11 year old girl decapitating people.
I usually agree with Devin's reviews, and I can't say I disagree with his Kick Ass one, because I've not seen it. But goddamn, that trailer makes it look fucking horrible. Like Seth McFarlane or Mark Millar's idea of transgressive action film.
Oh wait, it IS Mark Millars idea of a transgressive action film.
It seems offensive because all they could think of to shock an audience was a cute kid saying cunt and killing people.
Who knows, I hated everything about The Hangover until I actually sat down and watched it.
After Stardust, I could see a mediocre trailer for Kick Ass and already have bought my ticket. Devin, your slobbering appears justified.
Devin gave a 10/10 to this…. so, in his opinion, this is close in quality to Punisher Warzone, Observe and Report and Terminator Salvation…. I'll skip it
Wow, you gave this a 10/10? You have lost pretty much every last drop of credibility as this looks thoroughly awful. The Godfather is something that gets a 10/10, not this disposable junk. This movie is offensive, not because it shows a 10 year old killing people, but because it thinks a 10 year old killing people is so cool and shocking, but actually this borders on chesse and goes way past offensive to be just plain boring. Plus the action shots were laughably bad. Great work Devin!!
The 'cunts' line delivery was pretty terrible. Unfortunate.
I saw the Punisher: War Zone after devin's glowing review of it. GARBAGE. Before that, Fantastic Four which he wholeheartedly recommended. SHIT. I don't trust his reviews for any kind of action movie. Any other type of genre, yes, but action, NO.
This looks just as retarded. And hype from butt-numbathon is as valid is your neighborhood junkie's ringing endorsement.
