As the karate kid is near the top of my list for favorite 80's films, this project has had me angry since I heard of it's inception. Then I saw the trailer. All my worries have been alieviated. The trailer looks as bad as I hoped. I want to protest this movie. I want to protest the unimaginitive Hollywood poop machine that gave up on original thought.

I would rather watch my fingernails grow in a Turkish prison then to see this film. I would rather watch…I dont know…twilight, then to see this travesty.

By the way, I am not going to see this movie.

China doesn't have Karate. The moves this kid is showing indicate he's learning kung-fu. And sure enough, Jackie Chan is a kung-fu master, and it's a Chinese art, so it makes sense. But… this movie is called "The Karate Kid." What the hell.

They're actually training on the Great Wall? Guh? Jackie Chan will be insulting this movie in Chinese interviews soon, just as he has all of his other American films.

A small but vocal contingent on the internet always rails against the vapidness of Hollywood with the announcement of each of their soul-crushingly stupid titles. But then millions of dollars are made when everyone turns out to see these steaming turds with all their family and friends, multiple times. Which only proves that we, the select elite are wrong in our views, and the backwards heathen MBA executives who rule Hollywood know what's really good for America.

This movie lacks credibility for a number of obvious reasons, but the most glaring issue is the fact that the kid is TEN YEARS OLD! Yeah, I'm sure the scrapes he gets into are really hardcore. And we're supposed to believe he's interested in girls? Give me a break. That kids arms are the size of my pinky. At least LaRusso was 15.

fuck. that. Jackie still looks OK but that kid's like 2 foot tall and as pointed out above he's not learning fucking Karate. Why not just remake the Last Dragon (or are they already doing that). Bruce Leroy and Shonuff need to be reimagined.

Now THAT would have been the shit, a last dragon remake. Good call.

This is a joke, this film did not need a remake. Please avoid this movie, let's send hollywood studios a message, that they can't keep recycling used material.

Unnecessary remakes and a lack of willful imagination in Hollywood are some of the top reasons why people pirate movies on the internet!!!

The original is actually a pretty fucking good movie, and a whole lot more competently made and produced than this seems to be (they can't even figure out how to title the damn thing).

Before people chime in about nostalgia, remember Ebert gave it 4 stars back in 1984.
