Remember kids, Joe Johnston has done OTHER flicks besides Jurassic Park III and Jumanji. Now shaddup.
Any word on the actual movie? Good, bad, middling?
Thoroughly excited for this movie, but I'll be damned if I'll wait for that website to load properly, much less watch the same 45 second commercial for some UFC show for every 30 second film clip.
I've posted a few comments on this movie before, but since #2 asked:
I saw a screening in Oct with Mr. Johnston and some of the producers present. The movie was good not great. But, I think, with some tweaks to the editing, the pacing could be much improved (my biggest issue with the film. There some long stretches that just weren't engaging, and some things barely made sense). The gore and effects were great, as were most of the performances. Blunt was the weakest though. The story is pretty familiar but solid (no real twists or anything). The screening version was a 2.75/5: with tweaks here and there I'd bump it up 3.5/5. I plan on seeing it again, in it's final form. Hope that helps!
Thanks Mike.
Yeah, at this point "doesn't suck" isn't a bad thing.
Glad to hear the editing is what plagued it. Since they got Walter fuckin' Murch to fix it up, that shouldn't be a problem anymore.
When you start defending my awful movie resume, you are really grabbing at straws….
