Not sure what it is about red band trailers. Just seeing that color slapped in front of a movie preview makes you want to see it even if you’ve never even heard of the film. It’s like you’re almost being naughty or something. Anyway, Comingsoon.net has the new crimson band of Cyttorak clip for the comedy, She’s Out Of My League, starring Jay Baruchel, Alice Eve and directed by Jim Field Smith.
The film centers around an unlikely hero – an average joe named Kirk, (Jay Baruchel) who works at an airport as a Transportation Security Administration officer and has very few goals in life, other than trying to get back together with his evil ex-girlfriend Marnie. Then he meets a smart, sexy, charming young woman called Molly (Alice Eve) – and, contrary to all expectations, starts dating her. His initial excitement turns to panic, as his own insecurities and the advice of family and friends threaten to ruin the relationship.*
I’ve heard very little about the film, but this looks like it could be pretty funny. I just hope we haven’t seen all the film highlights in this highlight. She’s Out Of My League premiere’s March 12th.

This is surprising. I got tickets to a test screening of this a few months back and couldn't get in, because they only wanted people under 25. I could've sworn it also said that the movie was going to be PG-13, which really begs the question… why/how is there a red band trailer?
LMAO! "How is this not gay?"
Unattractive girls everywhere, prepare to be dumped when your boyfriend suddenly gets unrealistic ideas of what kind of girl he can get. This movie is going to ruin lives.
Why does his face on the poster make me think of Splice?
@Toasted WOW! You nailed that right on the genetically modified looking face…
Wow, not of that was even remotely funny. "Plane doctor"? Seriously?
*Starring "Hay" Baruchel? C'mon Nunz, manage.
This movie's been sitting around for quite a while I think. It was filmed in Pittsburgh, and while doing some extra/stand-in work this last fall on other movies that have been filming around here, I've bumped into a bunch of people that worked on League, which filmed back in 2008. From what they'd said about it, like who was in it, and how long it had been since anyone had heard about it, I figured it'd be debuting in the new release aisle of the DVD section at my local Wal Mart any day now. Apparently, there's a real release date now, but it still sounds like Dreamworks is just puttting this one out to die.
Apparently, chicks dig guys with heads shaped like an alien.
Plan B, your arm chair quarterbacking is wrong. DreamWorks is not putting this one out to die – they're giving it the I LOVE YOU, MAN slot, which means they have some faith in the movie. Expect it to do pretty good mid-range business and I wouldn't be surprised if it pulled in 40-50 million total when it's all said and done. Just because they held onto it doesn't mean it's bad – just look at the internal strife between DreamWorks and Paramount in the last year (which could have played into its delay).
This really doesn't look that funny. I think people get excited over red-band trailers just because it seems "funny" to hear a few extra "fucks." ("Hahaha! The entire family says 'fuck!' Again! And again! And again! Oh, my sides!") I don't know, it could be entertaining, but right now, this trailer does not inspire confidence.
But this movie has no names in it. I mean, it stars "The guy from 'Tropic Thunder' and 'Knocked Up'. No, the other guy. Not him either. It's, ah nevermind". THAT guy. I think that actor's funny, but can he sell a movie by himself? If Dreamworks had any faith in the thing, why has it been sitting on the shelf for almost 2 years? I think it's going to do closer to "Miss March" business than "I Love You, Man". And true, just because a movie takes forever to come out, it doesn't mean it's bad necessarily, but when it comes to comedies like this, it's certainly not a good sign. It's hard to spin the delay into a positive thing.
I love You Man wasn't exactly star studded either. And what about movies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall? These kinds of comedies don't need stars.
"I Love You, Man" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" are practically "Ocean's 11" when it comes to casting if you're comparing it to "She's Out of My League". A look at IMDB shows that the only at least semi-recognizable names in "League" are Baruchel, Mike Vogel (Cloverfield, Supercross: The Movie), and one of the lesser (and that's really saying something) cast members of MadTV, Andrew Daly.
He should have gone for that brunette.
I look forward to Devin's 10 out of 10 review of this because it features someone from the Apatow gang
Looks like her other hand is drilling for chocolate.
I get a lot of shit because I'm not my more successful brother, but letss not crap on me hust because of that. My celebrity is hustified and I think, if you hust consider it for a second, it's better to be Hay Baruchel than Hustin Long.
