Here it is: the complete Iron Man Mark VI armor as will be seen in Iron Man 2. I’ve always liked the triangular chest piece, so I’m glad to see it make the movie armor. I’m not fully sure what’s up with the grey joints, though.
This is a 14 inch statue that will be released in August; the press release at Marvel.com indicates that there are three other Iron Man armors that we’ll see in Iron Man 2, and this is the final version. I’m not sure if we caught glimpses of this armor in the trailers yet; I’m not quite that obsessive. I just found this interesting because it gives a nice view of the entire armor.

Yawn.
(Still gonna watch this.)
You are that obsessive. And yes you did catch a glimpse of this in the latest trailers. Trianglular chest piece and all.
Hopefully they tie that new triangle to a new version of the Arc power chestpiece too…
I mujst say I'm a little concerned about this film. Marvel's made two movies…IRON MAN was GREAT…INCREDIBLE HULK absolutely SUCKED (IMO). Now they're trying t cram in an entire superhero team into CAPTAIN AMERICA…they're so focussed on AVENGERS they cold end up ruining the individual franchises.
You would like the triangular chest piece, you goober.
The grey joints break up the color a little bit, so it's not so bland. It works for me.
@#3: You are 100% wrong about The Incredible Hulk sucking, but it's your opinion and you are welcome to it.
it looks the same as last time, I dont get it. More service to the fanboys I guess.
Yeah, I'm not really sure how you could've made The INCREDIBLE HULK any better than what it was?? They certainly got the FX right along with the Law of Physics down perfectly with the HULK when he walked… It simply boils down to the fact ythat there are people who simply won't admit that Ang Lee made a bad movie with the 2003 HULK and wasn't what the fans wanted to see.. Ang Lee was the wrong director for that movie, even if he is a good director.. In this world, you have 1 shot at making an impression and Ang Lee's HULK blew that for the 2008 reboot… The damage was already done and no one would give it a chance, at least according to the 135 Million it made in the U.S and that's a shame to… Oh well, perhaps HULK will be in the AVENGERS?? It'd be a crime if he weren't…
Weird times when $135 million box office indicates that "no one would give it a chance."
And yeah, the new armor screams of fanboy service, but as long as Downey's on fire again, the film can withstand anything.
@ BKB: I agree that Ang Lee's HULK wasn't what the fans wanted, but it being a "bad movie" is neither a fact nor correct. Ang made a quarter-billion dollar Freudian monster movie that sacrificed the action and canon-loyalty for theme and character; the fans will not ever be ready for that.
As for the "new" Iron Man suit… how the hell are there two OTHER iterations between this one and the first movie's Mark III? The differences between III and VI subtle, purely cosmetic changes. Are the three armors in film 2 just going to be (mildly) varying paint schemes?
maybe Mark IV and V had nipples on 'em
Incredible Hulk ruled for one reason. Hulk beating the shit out of abomination using a police car as boxing mitts. FUCKING EPIC!
Hey Scott, Ang Lee's Hulk sucked no matter how much you try and read into it. Yep, it's not good…. Iron Man was pretty terrible too.
I think you see this suit in the big Iron Man/War Machine shoot-out scene at the end of the official trailer.
I just want say how impressed I've been with the hyper-functional and sleek Iron Man suit designs. Think about how few movies have actually gotten that right since the 80's. That being said, the crude-ass, flamethrower Iron Man suit from the 1st film will probably always be my favorite. I would make a Hobo Iron Man TV show if I could.
