I’m excited about the new Conan movie because its idea of prestige casting is Mickey Rourke in a glorified cameo and the green girl from Star Trek as the female lead. To be fair, Rachel Nichols was also the super-hot Scarlett in GI Joe last summer, but it’s more fun to be dismissive.
Latino Review reports that Nichols has landed the role of Tamara, Conan’s love interest. The casting breakdowns describe Tamara as:
Tamara
is 18 to 24 years old, Caucasian or Middle Eastern, open to all
ethnicities; beautiful, studious, correct, a novitiate of a Greek
influenced monastery. A master of martial arts, she has been trained to
be the Queen’s servant, bodyguard and best friend. She and
many other female bodyguards to the queen have been in hiding most of
their lives because of the curse of Acheron, which would take the
queen’s life to bring almost immortal power to its king. When
Khalar Singh, a powerful warlord with ambitions to become the king of
Acheron, storms the monastery and captures all of the novitiates, she
is separated from Ilira, the one she must protect. With all of her
strength and will, Tamara is determined to find and rescue her. She
finds herself in league with Conan because of a mutual need to find
Khalar Singh. She is not in the least intimidated by Conan’s
size or grim demeanor and their alliance eventually blossoms into
something that surprises them both… LEAD
That’s ‘lead role,’ not that their alliance blossoms into ‘lead the metal.’
Conan shoots
this summer in some godforsaken Eastern Bloc nation. Conan is being
played by the guy who was a Klingon or some shit on one of the Stargate shows.

Let the hating begin! While I'm not thrilled with the casting, I can't really bash this film yet… because there is no film yet! Not one costume has been shown. Not a single frame of film shot. I'll wait 'til there's something to judge, thank you.

If that casting breakdown had contained the phrase "must be comfortable with nudity" I may actually have considered seeing this.
The lead role (Conan) is being played by Jason Momoa (A Hawaiian). The movie is gonna be trash.
Before the Stargate fags show up to defend Momoa, Conan is a white dude with sun browned skin, piercing blue eyes and black hair. They key here is white dude. Poor choice and a guarantied failure. This movie will suck ass.

You should all join me in hoping that this current version of the film fails and never makes it to screen. Momoa is and never will be Conan or any Cimmerian. He doesn't fit the part. Mickey Roarke's agent should find a new movie…
I am a big Arnold fan.I've been hearing about this new actor playing Conan and i dont watch stargate so I went searching for some pics of this clown!Well here is my take on the situation.i think Jason will do a great job acting as Conan,he looks more the part than Arnold and is a way better actor than him.I do think he needs more time in the gym though.I have a statue of Conan and JASON resembles him more than anyone i have seen as acting wise out there.Just hope he brings it to the big screen.oh yeah and Conan The Destroyer just SUCKED.This movie is gonna destroy that hunk of garbage!
