I’m hearing good things about Sylvain White’s The Losers, and the director seems to be taking his increasing buzz to the bank, getting his next project lined up. According to the LA Times that project could be the umpteenth take on the legend of King Arthur, to be called Pendragon.
There’s the chance that this could be the Twilight version of King Arthur – it’s about the early days of Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot in Camelot – but then again White is a self-professed hardcore nerd, so I expect this to be a bit cooler than that.
The question is how fantasy-based it is. We’ve seen a real life King Arthur movie, called King Arthur, and it sucked dong. What makes the King Arthur legend so cool is the legendary aspects, not a bunch of dirty fuckers in rags. But the other thing that makes it cool is the ending, and I don’t know how you could do King Arthur: The Early Years on its own… which means franchise! The Continuing Adventures of King Arthur! Return to the Round Table! KA3: Camelot Falls!
And in true Hollywood tradition there’s a competing King Arthur project, this one written by Warren Ellis. Internet rumors have Guy Ritchie looking to direct that, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Man–a proper MODERN-DAY knights of the round table would be off the chain. Tarantino? Scorsese? Hello?
What happened to Brian K Vaughn's "Roundtable?" That project sounded so much better than any of these new developments. Though, A Warren Ellis Arthurian flick could be spectacular. granted it's not watered down which I'm sure it would be.
Just sounds like a younged-up version of First Knight or whatever that PoS was called. The best King Arthur movie is still Holy Grail, followed by Excalibur – Excalibur with a budget would be interesting to see (no on-the-run coverage-only sequences for a start), but even then it wouldn't have the weirdly perfect casting and Boormanisms that give it it's spark. The Once and Future King, the only other literary source worth a fuck outside Mallory is so extremely odd and magicky, most audiences wouldn't recognize it as legit King Arthur (I think most assholes think the Legend of the Round Table is actual history).

I couldn't agree more! With project happening while the other fantasy pics coming out (Clash of the Titans, etc.), I hope they go that rout.
