Our complete trust and faith? Really? That's funny, because after the brilliantly funny Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz seemed to me to be an evolutionary step backwards. The central thought seemed to be: Wouldn't it be funny if there was a Michael Bay-style gunfight in a quiet cathedral town? To which the answer is: No, it would be rather horrible. Schoolboy humour. one plus about the film, though. It reminded me just how brilliant POINT BREAK is. A film in which there really is more than meets the eye.

Hot Fuzz was a great film, not as good as Shaun of the Dead but still wicked. AND yes it was GREAT to see a Hollywood shootout in an old english town.

Hot Fuzz was a true disappointment, but it gets a "pass" from most because it followed the brilliance of Shaun of the Dead. Had Hot Fuzz been released in a vacuum, without the reputation of Shaun to shore it up? It would simply be recognized as a conceptual failure which degenerates into a plodding firefight at the end. It's all a matter of perspective, too much fucking perspective.

This movie will be like Caddyshack. Everyone but the main character is great… I kind of hate this poster.

Spaced was great, and I LOVE Shaun of the Dead. A brilliant comedy as well as one of the better zombie movies out there. I thought Hot Fuzz was a perfect candidate for the "embracing mediocrity" list. A competent film with almost zero laughs, entertaining enough to pass a couple of hours but not something I would ever want to see again. Scott Pilgrim seems incredibly precious and smug; zero interest in this one unless I see a decent trailer.

Hot Fuzz was great. Scott Pilgrim will be great. I can't imagine it making alot of money though…

Sorry, folks. "Epic" has crossed over into the mainstream of youth vernacular. Edgar Wright doesn't have my complete trust, because he started with Spaced, which I mostly hated. That he followed it up the truly outstanding Shaun of the Dead and the very good Hot Fuzz doesn't mean I'll trust him. Because, I mean … Michael Cera. Blech.
