One of the best films I saw at Sundance this year was Chris Morris’ Four Lions, a truly ballsy, way out there comedy about four domestic terrorists planning a horrifying attack on London. It takes a really steady directorial hand to make a movie that savagely satirizes both terrorists and those tasked with capturing them, all the while making you kind of weirdly root for these idiotic jihadists as they attempt to strike a blow against the West.
The trailer is now online, so you can watch it and hope for the movie to come to the US sooner rather than later.

Oh, look, another war flop's headed our way.
Not everything is a joke, no matter how much everyone wants it to be. While I respect the right of this movie to be made that does not mean I am not disgusted by those who made it and those who enjoy it,
Reminds me of Monkey Dust.
And sorry, but everything is a joke. If you're disgusted by taste then you've got bigger issues than the existence of this film and people enjoying it.
This looks awesome. I hope this gets huge. I can't wait for the Fox News headlines.
Chris Morris is a genius (watch Jam). I admire him for being so willing to cross over the lines no one else even dare approach.
I have my doubts about this film, though. Not because of the subject matter – the clips I've seen just don't seem funny.
Well I'm disgusted by people like Alex. I hear this film is a brilliant take on a very sensitive issue. It's is very good to hear from the other side of this conflict between "terrorists" and the mercenaries of the multinational corporations. Not that I agree with bombing innocent civilians, but maybe its just too confusing for some people to consider that terrorist might be actual human beings too…
Alright, that looks pretty great.
To spicer, #7:
"What the FUCk, min? terists aren't human lol they've fucin douchebags"
Okay, cool, now that I've spoken for the stupidity of the internet, I'll say my piece of the pie. Yeah, I pretty much agree. What I like about it is that it has the guts to explore a taboo. Real terrorists aren't faceless targets, they're human beings, and the moment we lose sight of that, we've lost our own humanity. Anyway, looks decently funny. As long as it stays apolitical and just breathlessly human, it should be good.
But real terrorists are probably douche bags, pretty much by their nature. You don't get many hardline religious fundamentalists with a sense of humor. Especially if they're willing to strap bombs to themselves. This movie is humanizing them by making them lovably stupid. That's about the only way you could make such people anywhere close to sympathetic. All that said the movie looks funny and I'd watch it. And yes everything is a joke. How the fuck else can you cope with such a ludicrous world?
Spicer, really? "Terrorists" in quotes, like they're really just misunderstood guys and that's just "our side's" term for them? Seriously?
No they are "Man caused disaster implemtentors" Obama and his cronies are Douche Bags along with those who made this film.
ALLAH U AKBAR!
Ha! Ha! Terrorists are so stupid they couldn't fly a plane into a building. Movie proves it. And a movie with the balls to be just as stupid is automatically a great movie @ chud.com.
