THR.com has word that the next possible candidates for the business end of a knife are in discussions to join the cast of Scream 4: Lake Bell, Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin. The production is reportedly looking for a July start date.
Scream 4 reunites Wes Craven with Kevin
Williamson, who kicked off a horror- movie revival with his Scream
script in 1996. The story brings back original cast members Neve
Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the new flick is
seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims,
with Williamson already under contract to write a fifth installment.
If deals are concluded, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin Jill,
essentially the heroine of the movie, and Panettiere would play her
best friend, a nerdy film geek. Culkin would play a potential love
interest for Jill. Bell is negotiating to play a police officer who
knew Sidney (Campbell) from high school.
Craven and Williamson are trying their best to keep the plot under wraps, including not even sending out the script to agencies, rather only character descriptions.

I hope it's in 3D.
You know Neve Cambell or one of the other original cast members is going to be the killer. What's the point?
Is there even any doubt in anyone's mind that Neve will either be: 1. killed in the opening, 2. Be the killer, or 3. A combination of the two with the first being a diversion to distract from figuring out the second?
I'm calling this now: either Campbell gets killed in the pre-credits sequence or turns out to be the killer. And, really, who gives a fuck about this? Give it a rest already.
There will be four killers this time.
Do you guys really think it would be that obvious? That's the first thing everyone went to when they heard about this movie? Maybe Sid will die, but I really doubt she's the killer… a lot.
Wow, colour me surprised there's no gratuitious shot of any of the female cast members in a bikini or something skimpy.
I saw a poster for Scream 4 (or Scre4m as it was titled on the poster) last night at the theater. I thought perhaps the film had already been produced. It's weird to see a poster for a movie that was still in the casting stage of production.
#7 – You sure you're not thinking of the Scary Movie send-ups?
#8- Where did you see this poster? What theater, in what city? I've never heard of a poster hitting theaters before a movie started CASTING.
@10: There's one of those posters in the Daly City Century theaters. I thought it was weird too, and yet I also wasn't surprised by it.
Yeah, apparently it's real:

Hey, I knew The One Ring would be destroyed in The Lord of the Rings and that The Rebellion would win in Star Wars … but I still enjoyed the movies! Maybe you all are super-smart and already know the killer (but, I doubt it) … doesn't mean it will be a bad or pointless movie!
3d rocks
Any film that has the potential to star Lake Bell has the potential to star me having a 2 hour erection.
