THR.com’s Risky Business has word that writer Jason Richman (Swing Vote, Bad Company, Bangkok Dangerous remake) has been brought in to punch up the script for the theatrical adaptation of MacGyver for New Line. In addition to his IMDB credits, Richman has also done uncredited work on films such as Black Hawk Down and Rush Hour 3 and also did a pass on Beverly Hills Cop 4. MacGyver, of course, is based on the Richard Dean Anderson spy-meets-genius show where Anderson portrayed the secret agent who used scientific trickery and homemade gadgets to get out of the ridiculous amount of danger in which he found himself. The show was also the inspiration for the upcoming parody, MacGruber, starring Will Forte and Val Kilmer.
Still no word on casting nor on a director. Raffaella De Laurentiis is producing “MacGyver” through her Raffaella
Prods. along with Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff.
Dino De Laurentiis is executive producing.

the ONLY way i have ANY interest in seeing this is if it brings back RDA to play macgyver, if hes not in it, its a total waste of time.
That's one hell of a resume there.
Bangkok Dangerous has the dubious reputation of being the only movie I've ever gotten to within 5 minutes of finishing and turned off, declaring to my wife that I refused, REFUSED, to waste one more second of my life on it.
I know I've watched Bangkok Dangerous, but for the life of me, I couldn't tell you what happend in it… No clue what so ever…
