Somebody at Marvel is getting fired. Yesterday Captain America concept art leaked, and now the same has happened with Thor. That’s two major character designs revealed by spies in one day. The studio can’t be happy.
When the Thor pictures leaked I thought for sure they were fake, since they’re Photoshopped to shit. I’m still not convinced that’s an actual photo of anything– look at his boots, they’re the same boot, mirrored with some blur tool used on one – but Drew McWeeny at HitFix, who was on the Thor set, says that it’s the real deal.

No shit it's photoshopped. THEY'RE COSTUME DESIGNS.
So… they cast Will Ferrel as Thor?
This has to be a joke or something. This is just a horrible picture. The costumes okay, but the picture looks like something a junior high school kid would have come up with
I'm pretty sure the only thing "real" in these images are Hemworth's face and hands–the rest is artwork. It looks very similar to the Cap art from yesterday–Is Marvel using the same production designer for all of their movies? Do the directors have any input on these character's looks, or is all up to the suits in charge? Anyway- I have no problem with this costume, I'm sure it will look great when it's actually onscreen.
there is no way any of this is real, even the face and hands are digital representations of the actor, i've seen Hemsworth giving interviews while filming and he didnt look that Will Ferrel like (you are right HT), as you say somebody must get fired over this, lets just hope he posts pics of the Warriors Three before he goes.
I don't know… looks pretty cheesy, I hope the red cape is a little less bright on screen. I will just have to have faith in Kenneth Branaugh. Of couse the last time I gave him the benifit of the doubt he gave us his proformance in Wild Wild West
Both Thor and Cap look hideous. Are you telling me that the Norse God of Thunder/Lighting has a rubberized batsuit? C'mon! The only thing missing is the nipples.
The design of these costumes is missing any personality whatsoever.
as semi-excited as i was to see the Thor reference at the end of IM2, the idea of a Thor as a movie is still too cheeseball imho.
the whole thing just looks fake…but it could be some weird promo bit for merchandising. who knows.
its hard to judge the costume outside the over all context of its place in the over all aesthetic of the film.
I hated Bale's costume in TDK but the film rocked so who cares.
This is concept art correct? So why is everyone freaking the fuck out? They shot the speeder scene in Return of the Jedi using action figures during pre-production. That doesn't mean IT WAS THE FINAL PRODUCT. Goddamn.
Looks pretty good to me. It'll look great once we see it lit properly and CGI enhanced on screen. Stop whining–it'll never be perfect enough for overly rigid comic geeks…
I thought Devin would know that things get designed before they get made, we know they're photoshopped, that doesn't make them look like they aren't legit and probably leaked on purpose.
These look like legit artwork created for licensing. Looks like the work of Greg Horn.
I need a helmet.
Tiny head + giant hands = bad Photoshop.
I was thinking the same thing #2. The thought of Will Ferrel as Thor kind of makes me laugh.
I can't believe anyone actually thinks these weren't leaked on purpose. And that does look like Will Ferrell in the first pic.
NotThor.
Not that big a deal, there was already a reveal of thor in custume a while back. Much better picture than this one obviously.
@#2. That's exactly how he looked on Conan's last Tonight Show. From the neck up at least.
Oh, so Thor is going to IML along with Cap! Sounds fun.
Huge hands are huge. This looks kind of (really) unprofessional, which is not necessarily any indication that it's not real concept work.
If this is a leak, and if these are internal reference/concept pictures intended just to communicate content between people producing the film (eg "how the costume will look") it doesn't matter how "good" or "finished" or "real" they look. Not every piece of internal artwork made up for a project looks like something that you'd find in an "Art of Thor The Movie" book.
BRAD PITT AS THE THUNDER GOD!!!
It looks like they 'shopped over a BC Rich advert from Guitar magazine. He better have a proper viking beard and moustache in the final
This looks like a picture I might see on a plastic bag, when I am shopping at a Halloween Express store in October.
Seems like there are a few people here who are unfamiliar with the definition of perspective.
