Came real close to canceling HBO this year. Glad I didn’t. Between Treme and the upcoming Boardwalk Empire, trailer embedded below, the channel is on an upswing. I have hopes even for A Song of Ice and Fire, even though I don’t dig the books.
The production design alone in Boardwalk Empire makes this show look like a must-watch. I’m psyched.

hell yeah. I'm looking forward to this one too.
Wow, that's one awesome trailer, and I've been bored with mafia themes for years. It's great to see Buscemi land such a meaty role in a Scorsese production. I'm going to have to get a friend to record this series for me now.
Hell yes! This show looks awesome!
the above pic is just a big black box with a little red x in the top left corner,
and the video is a big white box, any ideas how to correct this? or is my computer just crap?
Looks very intriguing. Will keep HBO for this one.
When does this show premiere?
I haven't been excited for a TV show in a while. This looks incredible.
Treme is good tv, also The Pacific was well worth the watch, even though the characters didn't have the emotional weight as the ones in Band of Brothers. Can't wait for Boardwalk either.
HBO is bringing the fucking heat these days. "Treme" is terrific, a true spiritual heir of Altman's "Nashville." "A Game of Thrones" is shaping up to be pretty terrific, and I love the books. Then there's "Boardwalk Empire" and the upcoming "Luck" from David Milch and Michael Mann, starring Nick Nolte and Dustin Hoffman. Holy fuck! This is why Hollywood doesn't make good movies anymore. They're all being made on HBO, in series form.
When, though? WHEN?
I've seen the first episode of "Boardwalk Empire" and it's as awesome as it looks. Scorsese's thumbprints are all over it, and it looks like a VERY promising series. Can't wait to see more.
