If I had a daily content quota, I could fill it simply by typing the full title of the newest Narnia pic. Be that as it may, the first trailer for the third installment in the franchise, Voyage of the Dawn Treader is now online (I caught it at ComingSoon). My last experience with the book series was somewhere around fourth grade, so I haven’t felt an overwhelming need to catch these movies. But I do have to say that Dawn Treader looks pretty interesting. There are seven books total, so should this movie continue to do well for the franchise, we’ll probably be catching these trailers every couple of years for the rest of the decade.
Wikipedia has the synopsis as: Edmund Pevensie and Lucy Pevensie, along with their cousin Eustace Scrubb, find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world. Joining forces once again with their royal friend Caspian X and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (quota filled) premieres December 20th and stars Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Will Poulter, Ben Barnes, Liam Neeson (voice of Aslan) and Bill Nighy (voice of Reepicheep).

I thought that the room 1408 burnt down. Why would they let kids in there with that same terrible ocean painting.
There are 7 books but only 3 of them deal with this storyline, so this is the last of the franchise. This is not the rant of a fan, mind you. The books are inane. So this is just for the sake of accuracy.

Color me surprised, because last I had heard Disney had dropped the Narnia franchise due to weak returns on "Prince Caspian." Which was a shame, because "Dawn Treader" might be my favorite book in the series. As such, kind of shocked to see this trailer, which looks decent.
None of the films has blown me away (I'm only a passing fan of the books, which I read for the first time as an adult 5 five years ago), but they've been competently made and entertaining. But IMO, both books and movies are just light entertainment compared to Tolkien, and it's hard to swallow the heavy-handed Christian dogma, especially in the last book.
It's too bad that this series survives while other series languish in development hell due to flubbed first movies. I'm looking at you Eragon, His Dark Materials, Spiderwick, The Seeker, Percy Jackson etc etc

Caspian made a lot of money (with int'l) but Disney still dropped. Fox picked up franchise last year. should be last in movies. i got all that info. from this site.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, wasn't Eddie Izzard the voice of Reepicheep in Prince Caspian?? What gives? Also this book was by far my favorite of the chronicles, I'm very excited for this one.
Who gives a fuck if Izzard isn't Reepicheep? it's not like he made the role his own and can't be replaced by some other motherfucka.
I wonder if The Last Airbender will be added to that list #5?
if disney wants to make christian fantasies with the widest market appeal why not do a bible movie? imagine the trailer, ' In a world where the beginning was the word…' It'd sell if they made James Earl Jones the voice of god, joel olsteen King David and megan fox his wife abigail. That one's on me Disney, go to town.
Aslan has a very particular set of skills; skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for CGI artists to render. Yes, I'm saying Aslan looks shit.
marco et al: Let me guess, you were born after 1990, right? Anyone who thinks Eragon, Spiderwick whatever, Last Airbender etc. etc. constitute classic literature (which is what the Narnia series is) needs to grow up and read some books. As for being "christian fantasies" have you even READ the books? No wonder Borders are going out of business. No, the books are not inane, and anyone who thinks the first three are the only good books (Prince Caspian was universally considered the worst book in the series, and look how good that turned out) hasn't read any of them and just has some sort of knee jerk "I heard it was a Christian fundamentalist" bs going on.
