Just a few hours ago I posted some images from the new Harry Potter trailer, and just that fast the thing is online for all to see. It’s a dramatically cut trailer that really tries to hammer home the cultural event that this finale hopes to (and certainly will) be. The film definitely looks to be as beautiful as the Oscar-nominated Half-Blood Prince.
Most agree that Deathly Hallows was a satisfactory conclusion to one of the most popular literary series every written- can the cinematic conclusion manage the same reputation? The gravity of the events definitely permeates these images, but we’ll have to wait and see if they stick the most important part of the landing and give the necessary characters their due.

Renn had to post this, because if Devin had he'd have either had to eat crow for knocking the teaser or played like he didn't like it, which is probably more apropos.
Marketing overload on this one. You're right, definitely being pushed as a cultural event along the lines of LotR. How many groan when they see the 3D callout? I was feeling the trailer up till that point. I am digging the aesthetic. A little jedi-induced wand war going on there with the two colors, red and green. But they gave Harry red so that makes it different since he is the good guy. Oh crap, was that a spoiler?

Looks great. Couldnt really get into the last one. Felt like 2 hours of highschool grab-ass, who's gonna go to the dance with who? Then the last 30 minutes shit got serious.
we all grew up on these films. there were a couple I did not like (2nd and 4th one) but, overall, I love these movies and am highly stoked. It will be sad to finally see them over but I have faith in this director: the last one was actually my favorite of the series, followed closely by the 3rd.
I'm not even a huge fan of the movies, but that gave me goosebumps. Very nice.
Hey now, what this stuff about here with Devin not doing the article about the trailer? I wonder how successful this series would have been if Rowling had the gumption to make the lead protagonist a girl instead of a boy? Right.
I really hope it's better than the last couple of films in the series. But considering what elements were left out of earlier films (mainly Snape's arc), these movies have a tough task. It's hard to deliver upon the promise of the books when you've left out some of the most important plot points in the previous films. Still, it looks gorgeous. I really hope both movies work as a satisfying conclusion to the series.
It's 'wish we shot it in 3D'. Although that said, they decided a little while ago to convert it to 3D, so with all that time to do it it should at least be alright(ish).
