Variety reports that Warner Bros. has picked up the script titled World War X
from writer Colin Trevorrow (I’d link to the story if Variety’s shitty
subscription limiter didn’t kick in. Instead, I’ll give ComingSoon the love). Joel Silver and Andrew Rona are producing. The premise is centered on a man recruited by a team of government agents to stop a
terrorist from the future who is using time travel to reshape history.
No word on casting nor director as of yet (unless it’s in the Variety article that I can’t quite see). Trevorrow is a writer / director whose credits include the short film Home Base and Reality Show. He has several projects in development, including Pet Robots, Stealing Time and Tester.

Sounds suspiciously Star Trek Enterprise to me. Why not do World War Z (the Zombie War) instead?
Speaking of WORLD WAR Z, what's the holdup with that one? That book seemed to exist only to be adapted into other media, but so far zilch.
But I thought Timecop already had a TV show and straight-to-video sequel?
Obviously they are waiting to see how walking dead to, before going to the next stage with WWZ
The WWZ project is still on track to be produced by Plan B (Brad Pitt's company). Paramount really seems to be getting behind this film and have been since the they re-optioned it for twice as much money and half the time. That shows quite a bit of interest. My only concern is that they wont spend enough money. I mean, its a WORLD WAR after all. You cant make a world war for cheap, ya know?
