Yahoo! Movies has the new one sheet and stills from Zack Snyder’s upcoming Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. The film is based on the series of books by Kathryn Lasky, The Guardians of Ga’Hoole and stars Jim Sturgess as Soren, Emily Barclay as Gylfie, Jay Laga’aia as Twilight, David Wenham as Digger, Emilie De Ravin as Eglantine, Miriam Margolyes as Mrs. Plithiver, Geoffrey Rush as Ezylryb, Richard Roxburgh as Boron, Deborra-Lee Furness as Barran, Abbie Cornish as Otulissa, Hugo Weaving as Noctus and Grimble, Ryan Kwanten as Kludd, Helen Mirren as Nyra, Sam Neill as Metal Beak, David Field as Jutt and Rachael Taylor.
The synopsis via Coming Soon: The film tells the story of Soren, a young owl
enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, a
mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save
all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. While Soren dreams of someday
joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and
yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father’s favor from his younger
sibling. But Kludd’s jealousy has terrible consequences–causing both
owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the
Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help
of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and
through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary
Guardians of Ga’Hoole–Soren’s only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and
saving the owl kingdoms.

What is the sound of one hand punching its owner's face? Did someone pitch this film as Happy Feet meets Percy Jackson and the Olympians? Maybe instead of having a centaur that is half man/half horse maybe have a centaur with the head of a horse and the body of a man. That hangs out with owls. That wear armor and fight evil. Grrr *SMACK* Ah, that's the sound of one fist punching its owner's face. I'm over kids films that don't have a character named Speed Racer.

I don't see what everyone is so upset over. Zack Snyder should have been making cartoons from the start.
