Anyway, Tony Scott looks to be Denzel’s favorite director, of this millennium, anyway. The pair, who first collaborated on 1995’s Crimson Tide, have made four films together in the last seven years, and two straight choo choo pics. The latest, titled Unstoppable, reteams the director and actor in a tale about a runaway train carrying toxic chemicals that threatens to devastate a town in the train’s path. Washington portrays Frank Barnes, a veteran railroad engineer and Chris Pine co-stars as Will Gordon, a young train conductor. Together, they chase the train in another locomotive in an attempt to bring it under control. Rosario Dawson and Kevin Dunn round out the cast.
Unstoppable premieres on November 12th for Fox. You can check out the trailer below.

It's good to see everyone flex their artistic muscles with this choice.
I got to work as a stand-in and extra for a few days on this movie last fall (mostly during the boardroom railroad exec "So what about the loss of human life, we're going to lose MILLIONS" freakouts), and Tony Scott is an AWESOME guy to be around when he's working. Those scenes, as well as one where I'm just some dude in Chris Pine's neighborhood, will probably be the most boring to see in the movie, but the smaller scenes get you more face time with the crew, and it got me invited back for more work. Sweet gig if you can get it!
Is this the second installment of Denzel Washington and Tony Scott's "Train Trilogy" or some shit. I mean, it looks like Denzel is playing the exact same character from Pelham 123 except with a shaved head and Scott is doing his usual "car flipping a million times in order to make this look more like an action movie" nonsense. Chris Pine gives me hope but hopefully he has more to do in the film than he did in the trailer. Could be good but it just feels so familiar.
Nice steamy turd. Denzel likes to remind Hollywood he can open any movie to a 100+ m box office. It's like he's daring America to not see this crap, but he knows you will… bastard. FYI, your captcha bites.

Naturally, they've blown it completely out of proportion – the multiple crashes and derailments seen didn't happen, basically the crew in the real incident successfully connected to the rear of the train at 51mph, applied the dynamic brake (basically used their motors as a brake) and brought the train down to 11mph, at which point a bloke managed to board the lead loco and shut it down, stopping the train.
At least it's not a total remake of "Runaway Train", which I can't believe Hollywood hasn't already recreated with Channing Tatum and Justin Beiber in the lead roles.

Runaway Train 2: Runawayerer
I still trying to figure out why cops would shoot semi-automatic rifles at a moving train (other than it looks "Michael Bay 'Splotions!!!" cool)? Wouldn't it risk multiple ricochets wounding/killing anything in its path?
