I have a friend (a much better friend now after this tip) over at LA Weekly, the local culture joint, who just sent me word on a piece they’ve done showcasing The Ladies of Sci-Fi Burlesque. The troupe does themed burlesque shows, and in this instance, they have performers who are doing their thing as characters from popular sci-fi flicks. This includes Pris from Blade Runner, Ripley from the Alien franchise, Maria from Metropolis, Aeon Flux, Barbarella and Metroid’s Samus Aran.
A selection of the pictures are below, and you can click on over to
LA Weekly for the rest of the 47 snaps. Some of them are most definitely NSFW. The ladies will be next performing as the Scream Queens Burlesque starting October 9th. I, uh…may have to get myself assigned to cover that… And I don’t even work for LA Weekly.

Reading this article makes me sad on so many levels…
Yuck, girls!
makes me sad that this has nothing to do with cinematic happenings under development 🙁
Amazing. Marginally attractive skeezers with low curd thighs squeezed into shoddy geek-themed costumes. Crack reporting I must say.

Flicks = movies = cinema

It's just a bit of fun. Stop thinking you're 2 kool 4 skool you joyless fucks.
@#4: You mean not all women look like the cover of Shape magazine? Why wasn't I told? Seriously, though, you're an asshole.
@#7: Hey, I like curvy muchachas as much as the next guy, but I often feel the need to crack wise when geekery goes beyond the pale.
Amen on #6. Not every post has to be a spoiler-heavy script review for a movie that won't come out for another 3 years.
