This project came out of nowhere, as there’s no other information available on it. If it hadn’t come from Production Weekly I wouldn’t have believed it: Michael Caine, Ray Winstone, Vinnie Jones, Gerard Depardieu and Derek Jacobi have all been cast in Henry5, a sci-fi thriller based on Shakespeare’s Henry V.
Appropriately enough, 5 actors for Henry5. And that cast is incredible because it’s almost like none of them have any business being in a film together; it’s as if I accidentally fell over a few times and cast this movie myself, I love it!
As of now all we have on this thing is the cast and title: no director or how much/what from Henry V they’re using. The plot of the play centered on Henry’s attempted invasion of France during the Hundred Years’ War, so how it’ll be adapted is going to be interesting.
The Henry5 title scares me a bit, as it’s almost a clone designation and who needs theatrical clones anymore? Still, based on the nutty cast I’m extremely excited about this strange little movie. Hopefully more about it will come out in the next few days.

Speaking as confirmed fan of the Henriad in its original form, old English and all, as well as the two film adaptations of Henry V by Olivier and Branagh, all I can say is…oh no.
I guess the brilliance of Taymor's TEMPEST trailer convinced them to do this? Or the overwhelming success of other adaptations, like O? Jesus. This sounds like vomit. And we all know how vomit sounds.
