Entertainment Tonight, that bastion of syndicated enetertainment journalism, has scored an exclusive on footage from the upcoming Martin Campbell-helmed, Ryan Reynolds-starring Green Lantern Flick.
They’re premiering their bounty on Tuesday’s show, but to tease it and to whet our nerdy appetities, they’ve given us a sneak in the form of a 30 second promo spot. It’s below:
And there ya go. Dig the way they blatantly manipulate the script to give an excuse to show Ryan Reynolds in his undies! The footage looks great though, aside from that godawful VO track.
And if daytime celebrigossipnews isn’t your thing, apparently the first full trailer for the movie is gonna be attached to the new Potter.

Looks really good… EXCEPT… for one glaring issue: Hal Jordan ain't a wisecracking hero. He's totally straightlaced and serious. Why is he suddenly a comedian? If you wanted that, you should've done the Kyle Rayner GL.
OMG. From those brief clips, it looked like a sequel to My Super Ex-Girlfriend or something. Please don't let me down Martin Campbell. I still believe this is going to be good!

Looks like Campbbell's going for the whol Han Soloish space cowboy thing, which Ryan Reynold can do in his sleep. It's probably a good thing, the whole space opera thing will need some levity. As long as they clean up the effects the movie looks bad ass.
Does anyone else picture a little boy banging his sippy cup on the ground while reading Fuckface's comment? Is that just me?
What gets me is he CAN do other stuff. He wasn't half bad in the Chaos Theory movie, and his character was completely straight-laced in that. I think it's just the writers, they hear they got Reynolds and then they go: "Oh crap, we gotta punch up the script with wittiness!"

I don't get the CG suit for the life of me. It looks weird and costs 100 times the amount of a regular outfit.
Those 30 seconds look more interesting than what I've seen from Thor, Cap, and everything else Marvel has been cheaply throwing together thus far, sans the first Iron Man.

All the haters: we get it, you hate it, now GTFO. I for one am glad they are going the Kyle Rayner route with GL, it will be the perfect summer movie experience.
I'll reserve judgement for the proper trailer, but based on what I've seen here, this does indeed look awful. CGI suit was the wrong decision – might be hard to buy the character if his costume looks fake in almost every shot. Captain America looks superior in almost every respect…something I *never* thought I'd say in a million years.
