We told you about the latest Resident Evil title just recently, and Capcom has just released a teaser trailer for it.
Alright, it doesn’t show much, and seems to exist just to beat the title into your head. What an editing job!
But the little bit of footage that we can see looks promising. The look of the game is definitely reminiscent of Resident Evil 2, plus the last bit with Leon in the truck? Ripped straight from the opening cinema of that classic game. Interesting to see where they’re taking the story with this one, and I have to admit that the idea of playing a Left 4 Dead-ish co-op title with shambling zombies is certainly an enticing one. Even if isn’t the horror title we all want.
Expect Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City to hit Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this winter.

After the dissapointment that RE5 was, I don’t know I want an official “sequel” just yet.
@NickP – agreed, RE5 was crap on toast. But RE4 earned them a lot of goodwill, and if this is anything like LFD2 (and if they’ve actually created a functional controller scheme) this could be pretty fun.
I wouldn’t go so far as calling RE5 absolute crap. It was an okay game that relied too hard on the action elements of 4 (at the expense of tone) and ended up being hampered by co-op play essentially becoming mandatory. It was a solid rental that should have been a must-buy, so it’ll always be a disappointment, but I wouldn’t dismiss it outright.
And while I’d love a new actual survival-horror game of some type, this could be tons of fun.
