Do you see the important of copywrite law, kids? If Night of the Living Dead had only been created with a little © in the title they wouldn’t have horrible films and projects ripping it off completely and tarnishing its good name.
Night of the Living Dead 3D was just another in a long line of films taking advantage of the film’s public domain status. I’d say it’s a terrible film but I don’t really know for myself how bad it gets, because I turned it off about twenty minutes into it after my friend and I both got migraines. Thanks, magenta/green glasses! (Although Trevor saw it and verified its crappiness.)
But I did see enough to be embarrassed for top billed Sid Haig, and have you seen that man’s filmography? Love him to pieces and he’s been in a billion classic blaxpoitation films but the man hasn’t gotten a good role since The Devil’s Rejects.
Anyway, we all though that film was behind us, till Shock Till You Drop reported that director Jeff Broadstreet will be pumping out a sequel to his most successful and most unoriginal film.
The latest victims to this fiasco will be the Wishmaster himself Andrew Divoff and one Jeffrey Combs (noooo!!!)
The synopsis: After inheriting the family mortuary, a pyrophobic mortician (Divoff) accidentally exposes hundreds of un-cremated bodies to toxic medical waste. As the corpses reanimate, the mortician’s inheritance-seeking younger brother (JEFFREY COMBS) unexpectedly shows up, stumbling upon a full zombie outbreak!

I think that these are mildly ok in the sense that hopefully the luckless people who end up viewing them go, man, that was shit, then go and check out the original and be wowed.
Just got Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead on Blu-Ray, and dammit, it’s great.
I do love The Devil’s Rejects and hate that Rob Zombie didn’t go further down that path, because seriously, The Devil’s Rejects is one of the best recent horror cinema experiences I’ve had.
I live in Evans City (ground zero of the Romeroverse), just outside of Pittsburgh, and it seems like even in 2011, every asshole that picks up a camera around here thinks “Dude, we should totally make a zombie movie!”. While I’d like to think that those people that Chamboosy talked about might have the sense to just stick to the classics, I think they’re the same assholes that will just go on to make their OWN shitty zombie movies that look like (or probably look worse than) every other subpar zombie flick flooding the market.
I think Georgie boy tarnished the original more with his last three outings, then any of these remakes.
Then you’ve clearly not paid close attention to these remakes. At least George tries.
