B-Action Thread luminary, felix brought to the thread, an international trailer for the Guy Pearce starring, Luc Besson produced sci-fi epic, Lock-Out. The trailer is pretty exciting, basically playing out a scene from the film, and that doesn’t happen often in trailers, where they’re mostly a bunch of quick cut shots.
Plus as has been stated in the thread already, Pearce seems to be channeling Bruce Willis as Joe Hallenbeck from the underrated The Last Boyscout. Besson has been on a hot streak for several years on the writing and producing front. This is continuing that. Plus how awesome is it that Peter Stormare is in it? I still hold out hope that Besson and Tcheky Karyo will work together again.
See the trailer below (It’s got some bad language, so it’s not work safe!) and marvel at the awesomeness that is Guy Pearce. I hope this is the beginning of him becoming a full blown action star. The man can handle it.

This really rings a bell. Probably not a straight rip, but it bares some resemblance to an old 2000ad comic strip series called Harry Twenty on the High Rock.

Quick look at IMDB suggests there’s a bit of an Escape from New York/LA plot thrown in too – but I think Harry 20 also had some sort of plot twist, that Harry was some sort of deep cover agent.
But Babylon AD was nothing but familiar SF Comics tropes thrown at a screen for 2 hours.
Agreed on Pearce. Looks like he’s back in his much missed Memento hard ass mode.
His name was FUCK YOU.
“channeling” Willis’ Hallenback? I guess that’s one way of putting it.
But, yeah, looks fun.
The “submit a scoop” thing is still fucked (at least on Firefox 8), but new developments on this one that will doubtless be posted here in short order.
The most I’d heard on this previously was “Guy Pearce in Luc Besson Sci-fi movie.” Then I saw this trailer, and was immediately sold on it.
