I’m really liking these viral videos of the android from Prometheus, David 8. This one in particular shows us just how advanced the android is, and there’s a line or two in the video that seem very ominous and Ash-like. Will we see David 8 go crazy and try to suffocate Noomi Rapace or Charlize Theron with a dirty magazine? We’ll find out when Prometheus hits June 8th.

The line about David’s ability to do things that humans would find unethical is entirely too on the nose, whether his role ends up being that of another Ash or another Bishop.
But that’s picking nits. The bigger problem is the same problem every viral marketing campaign like this suffers from. Its intended target was already going to buy the movie ticket.
While they’re probably not seen in the film in their entirety, I’m sure they’ll be running on monitors or TVs or billboards or something, that they were always going to be DVD extras anyway. I’m fine with that, but like you said, if they were made JUST for the purpose of viral marketing, it’s kind of a waste of money.
