Thanks to felix from The B-Action Thread for bringing this news to my attention.
My “anticipation” for the Robocop remake is more curiosity than actual outright anticipation. I still don’t care at all about Joel Kinnaman, but Gary Oldman being in it is pretty cool, and now we’ve got Samuel L. “I don’t turn down movies.” Jackson signed on to be in the film.
Here’s hoping Samuel L. plays Dick Jones, or whoever the main villain turns out to be. I also like that they’re putting in interesting actors in supporting roles thus far to take away from the fact that the lead is not exactly bringing in a lot of interest.

Interesting point made about OCP being more of a conglomerate this time. But if we really need a new Dick Jones, it’s John Slattery.
Nice job using a still of Jackson as the Octopus in the story. Don’t tell anyone, but I actually kinda liked the Spirit.

Problem with Samuel Jackson is he dosen’t lend anything too a movie other then his tired ass badass routine..The guy’s only ever been fresh and exciting in Pulp Fiction everything ever since has been the same loooonnggg running Samuel l. Jackson gag..For me this dosen’t bode well for Robocop the casting for the most part so far is uninspired and cliche’ at best,I hope they have one hell of a script!.Oldmans fantastic but he’s becoming alot like this era’s John Lithgow he pops up everywhere kinda ruins the impact a great actor can have on any film..As for Kinnanman himself as Murphy I kinda like that idea relative unknown works for this role but it’s everything else surrounding this incarnation of Robo that just has “ICKY” all over it,Redesign choice’s that really rob the film of some very impactful moments and the fact that the directors previous work really just ain’t as great as it’s made out to be..Well this Robo fan is interested in this film at least in the train wreck sense of it..
