When Adam Sandler’s not busy shepherding his Tonka Trucks opus or degrading his legacy, he likes to keep his friends busy. To that point, we can look forward to Grown Ups 2 being unleashed upon unsuspecting masses next summer. But before that, we’ve got Happy Madison’s new Kevin James-vehicle Here Comes the Boom (October 12), which could honestly be the title for every movie Happy Madison has put out since Wedding Singer. If someone had told me a year ago that Kevin James would look convincing as an MMA fighter; that someone had to have been Kevin James:
I watched Paul Blart: Mall Cop for the first time this weekend*. It’s not as bad as people have made it out to be. It’s an abomination, but after Jack & Jill I think we all need to be mindful of what rock-bottom really looks like – and pray that we shan’t be privy to it again.

Pacino in Jack and Jill = De Niro’s recent career decisions
I guess Pacino wanted to catch up with De Niro in his fall from grace and figured that being in a Sandler flick was the quickest and easiest route! He was correct.
Kevin James has nothing to lose by being in Happy Madison movies. It’s his bread and butter now.
This looks like something I’ll enjoy a few years from now on a Sunday afternoon between football games. I hope the ending involves Salma running up to the cage during the big fight, tearing open her blouse and shouting, “If you win you get these!”
I have to say this isn’t as bad as you made it out to be. At least he’s in shape, and looks like there will be some funny sequences. I’m sure the romance arc with Hayek will be uncomfortable and unbelievable, but I’ll certainly catch it on FX or Spike.
I HATED Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Stupid movie that takes the “fat man falls down” gag and beats it into the ground. Only thing that was even remotely amusing was the fact that its plot mimics Die Hard’s.
In both the story and in one of the comments the “not as bad as…”was mentioned. That is not valid film criticism! That is not developing a positive concept by indicating it lacks a perceived negative! Stop using that as an argument, it is lazy!
