Woof. Somebody got paid to make that. That monstrosity. Just drink that thing in for a second. That might be the worst poster I’ve ever seen. Wolverine and ninjas should go together like peanut butter and jelly. Instead, it’s a really crude shop of Jackman superimposed over black and white ninjas, some of who I suspect are used twice on this poster. Howabout a teaser poster where Logan’s claws clash with a ninja blade? It shouldn’t be this difficult, Fox.
The below poster isn’t awful, though it makes it look like the title is actually The Wolverine in 3D. I hate when studios do that. Nobody looks at a poster and asks “But is it in 3D?! Oh, good, it’s indicated right here in the title.” Also included are more images from EW’s profil piece, including images of villainess Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova) as well as Mariko (Tao Okamoto) who Logan protects from the Yakuza. If the Green M&M ever proves herself worthy to Pinocchio’s Blue Fairy: Viper would be her human form.

“…whom Logan protects…”
Did Meyers87 make that poster?
Tim Kelly, The…Top Poster of The Wolverine is…Awe-Inspiring! Wolverine vs Ninja is just…EPIC! Do you also dislike Viper’s…Look? That outfit is ripped right out of the pages of…Marvel’s Wolverine Comics!
You know I love you, duke. But that poster’s the laziest thing ever postered.
Tim Kelly, Wolverine vs Ninja is…Awesome! I don’t care about it being photoshopped! I will…Easilly take that over the…Boy Bandesque posters of X-Men Origins: Wolverine! Also, I like the…3D effect where Wolverine looks like he is ready to…Hack and Slash his foes as if they were helpless…Does!
My first thought as well. “Did you guys just get punked by somebody passing off their fan-made poster as real?” My second thought was: “That first pic of Viper looks like a girl in a mermaid Halloween costume.”
Also, her hair makes her look like Joe Dirt.
I was so thinking mullet…
*face palm*
I know I’ll get slain for this. I am a huge movie lover, but not a comic book lover. I don’t hate them or anything, just not my cup of tea. I have LOVED the x men movies (cept the third) and comic book movies in general. So coming from that place….wolverine with ninja’s in that setting sounds like the stupidest shit ever. and the last wolverine movie was jaw droppingly bad. most of my MOVIE going friends, who are true, not comic book going people, also think this just sounds lame and out of left field. I’ll wait for the trailer I guess because that poster is anti-promotion it’s so bad.
That’s Viper? As in Madame Hydra?
Sheesh. This is why Fox will always fail at making comic book movies. Green hair is not difficult. Also, said green hair should be covering half of her (scarred?) face. Also she should not look like Joe Dirt. (You nailed it, Cosby.)
The biggest thing wrong with that poster is Jackman’s pose. If he was just staring steely-eyed, no expression and with his claws crossed, it would be halfway decent. The trying-to-shit-out-a-stubborn-turd expression is what makes these Wolvie posters so excruciatingly awful.
Ah movie posters these days suck ass… Drew Struzan where are you???? 🙁
The Wolverine vs Ninjas thing is based on perhaps the best Wolverine story ever from the comics. I can see why someone who isn’t into comics would think it’s sounds stupid, though. I had high hopes when Aronofsky was attached to it. Now… not so much. The poster I saw for it in Mexico was FAR better than these two though.
Why don’t they just ask Frank Miller to draw a better poster?
Um…apparently Wolverine doesn’t have nipples. What did that bastard Stryker do to him?!
The Wolverine posters need a moment of zen. Is it really THAT hard to do, since Jackman is now playing him for the 6th time? You don’t always have to be screaming when you have blades coming out of your hands, dude. You should be used to that by now. Unless you reached a point where they wouldn’t retract. That would make me scream bloody murder, too. I’d look like a jackass typing with Wolverine’s claws on. And I’d kill the computer if they were real.
I saw that Harajuku Girl and thought, “THAT’S Mariko? The neon S&M teenager? Are they THAT insane?!?” Then there’s the picture of Jackman with someone else on a train, and I felt better. A bit. That poster is the worst thing ever, though.
Pachinko parlor that is. Damn thing looks like a train.
