I am proud to present my twelfth selection. Torque, by Fernanzo Fro Reza. A great entry in a great series, and one based on a film CHUD has a special relationship with. I wrote a rather seminal DVD review of the film, one which got director Joe Kahn’s attention. We’ve been friends ever since and CHUD’s always loved the man and are huge proponents for his upcoming Detention. Is it just me or do most of these poster look lame? CHUD presents these as great pieces of art but they really arent. They are simplistic and blocky. Especially this one, it sucks.

The squarish vector art look is worn out. What is this poster saying? Is this movie about windmill farms and poorly executed ‘q’s? The typographic treatment with the motorcycle illustration might have sufficed by itself.
Jesus, guys. These aren’t posted designed to sell a movie, like a theatrical poster. They’re homages to specific scenes or the overall feel of the movie — done by a fan, for fans of that specific movie. You’d understand the design and color choices more if you’d seen the movies this guy is paying tribute to.
I already got more enjoyment out of the poster than I did out of the movie.
Never saw this one, but I did purchase “The Thing” and “The Black Hole” posters. They’re nice additions to my wall with the otherwise typical floating heads. Well, the original “Thing” poster is badass in it’s own right, but you know what I mean.
Wish this poster had some connection to the scene in which Adam Scott uses a fucking GIANT key to start his car
Does anyone really remember specific scenes of this movie? Also, I think the overall feel of the film is “fucking ridiculous”, which I don’t think this poster conveys at all. Maybe if the background was just a giant Mountain Dew logo or something…
I love this movie and I think this poster is spiffy.
